To mark the 20th anniversary of the TKCMC, the Secretariat hosted a small event with stakeholders based in Windhoek. Speaking at the event on behalf of Namibia, former Executive Director of TKCS , Mr. Oscar Muyetwa gave a brief history of the journey to the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding and the establishment of the Secretariat.
For her part, Charge de affairs at South African High commission to Namibia, Mrs. Maharaj spoke of the importance of the work of the Secretariat in trade facilitation, more importantly now with the introduction of Africa Continental Free Trade Agreement(AfCTA), she stated that work still needs to be done to ensure this corridor in good standing for facilitation of AfCTA. TKCS Executive Director Mr. Leslie Mpofu thanked the stakeholders for grazing the occasion and highlighted the achievements of the Secretariat since inception to date.
